Our Partners

Collaborating to improve maternal and child health across the nation.

Our History & Partnerships

CityMatCH was initiated in 1988 as a special project of the Boston Department of Health and Hospitals with the goal of improving the organization and delivery of services to urban families and children. For over three decades, we have been building strong partnerships with federal agencies, national organizations, local health departments, and community partners to address maternal and child health disparities in urban communities.

Today, CityMatCH stands as a national membership organization of city and county health departments' maternal and child health (MCH) programs and leaders representing urban communities in the United States. Our partnerships extend across government agencies, public health organizations, academic institutions, and community-based organizations, all united in the mission to strengthen public health leaders and promote equity in maternal and child health.
